Museo de Arte Tigre

The Museum of Art Tigre houses a collection of Argentine art from the 19th & 20th centuries. Its beautiful building will take you back to the Argentine Belle Époque. You will also enjoy a relaxing garden and a nice view of the river.

El Museo de Arte Tigre cuenta con una colección de arte argentino figurativo que abarca los siglos XIX y XX. Su hermoso edificio lo llevará al pasado, a la Belle Époque argentina. También podrán disfrutar de un jardín para relajarse y la vista del río.

How to get there by car / Cómo llegar con automóvil:
From Buenos Aires take the Av. General Paz- Autopista del Sol (Panamericana) Ramal Tigre (Tigre Centro). Street Paseo Victorica, drive along the Luján River until you see the Museum.

Desde Capital Federal tomar la General Paz - Autopista del Sol (Panamericana) Ramal Tigre (Bajada Tigre Centro). Calle Paseo Victorica, maneje a lo largo del Río Luján hasta llegar al Museo.

How to get there by train / Cómo llegar con el tren:
Fom Retiro, take the TBA Line Retiro - Tigre until the last station. Cross Cazón Ave. and walk along the Luján River. It’s a beautiful promenade but a long walk so, be prepared (take comfortable shoes and sun protection).

Desde Retiro, tomar la línea TBA Retiro - Tigre hasta la estación terminal, cruzar Av. Cazón y bordear el río Luján. Prepárese para caminar mucho, es un paseo hermoso, pero necesitará calzado cómodo y protección solar.

Museo de Arte Español Enrique Larreta

It’s difficult to believe that it is possible to be in a peaceful garden, meters away from noisy and crowded Cabildo & Juramento Avenues, in Belgrano. Believe me, you can take a break and enjoy the Museum of Spanish Art Enrique Larreta’s beautiful garden. Of course, the museum is worth a visit but you can’t miss the garden.

Es difícil de creer que uno puede encontrar un refugio casi de ensueño a pocos metros de las bulliciosas avenidas Cabildo y Juramento, en Belgrano. Créanme, es posible hacerlo y disfrutar de un hermoso respiro en el jardín del Museo de Arte Español Enrique Larreta. Por supuesto que el museo merece ser visitado, pero el jardín, es imperdible.

Mapuche Art at the Museo de Arte Popular José Hernández
Hi. It's been a while. Today I visited the Museo de Arte Popular José Hernández on Del Libertador Ave. and Bulnes St. There is an exhibition of Mapuche art from the Nicolás García Uriburu's collection. You can visit it until 9/16. Read more info here and enjoy my pictures.

Hola. Pasó un tiempito desde mi última entrada en este blog. Hoy visité el Museo de Arte Popular José Hernández en Av. del Libertador y Bulnes. Renata Schussheim / Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes

Más de 250.000 personas participaron de "La Noche de los Museos" según el diario Clarín publicó hoy. Si bien yo no recorrí ninguno de los circuitos anoche, hoy regresé al Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (foto) para tomar unas fotografías de la muestra de la artista y vestuarista Renata Schussheim. El martes fui al vernissage de su retrospectiva y no tenía la cámara conmigo. Los actores Norma Aleandro, China Zorrilla, Víctor Laplace y los artistas Rogelio Polesello y Nicolás García Uriburu fueron algunos de los presentes en la inauguración de esta muestra impactante. Aquí comparto con Uds. algunas de las fotos que tomé de las obras que más me gustaron.


More than 250.000 persons attended the Night of the Museums last night, according to the newspaper Clarín. I went last Tuesday to the opening of Renata Schussheim's exhibition at the National Fine Arts Museum (first photo above). Actors Norma Aleandro, China Zorrilla, Víctor Laplace & artists Rogelio Polesello & Nicolás García Uriburu were some of the attendants. I didn't have the camera with me, so I went back today to appreciate one more time this powerful exhibition. Here are some of the snaps I took from the artworks I liked the most.

La Noche de los Museos


La Noche de los Museos es una original propuesta que abarca distintos circuitos artísticos para acercar el arte a públicos variados.

Esta iniciativa nació bajo ese nombre en la ciudad de Berlín en 1977, con el propósito de ampliar la convocatoria a diferentes sectores de público, abriendo las puertas de los museos un sábado a la noche. Desde entonces, ha sido adoptada en más de 130 ciudades europeas. El 25 de septiembre de 2004 Buenos Aires se convirtió en la primera capital de América que desarrolló La Noche de los Museos.

La tercera edición de La Noche de los Museos se realizará el sábado 7 de octubre en 76 museos y espacios de arte del Gobierno de la Ciudad, nacionales y privados, a través de 10 circuitos - entre ellos un evento en torno de la escultura "Floralis genérica (foto)- que podrán ser recorridos entre las 7 de la tarde y las 2 de la madrugada, con acceso libre y gratuito.

Masks from America at the "Museo de Arte Popular José Hernández"


The Museo de Arte Popular José Hernández houses Argentine crafts & folk art.

Ceramics, wood, wool, leather, gourd and silver are some of the artworks' materials which can be found here.
It is located in Palermo Chico and now offers a collection of ritual masks from many countries of America.

Museo de Arte Hispanoamericano Isaac Fernández Blanco

The Museo de Arte Hispanoamericano Isaac Fernández Blanco is located on Suipacha St. between Del Libertador Ave. and Arroyo St. It suffered damages from the 1992 bombing of the Israeli Embassy (which was located right at the corner) but was repaired.

The museum is an old mansion from 1921. It houses a beautiful collection of colonial art and there is a marvelous temporary exhibition which gathers pieces from 12 museums from Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, Salta & Tucumán, a region known as N.O.A. (northeast of Argentina). 400 objects made in diverse materials by Pre-Columbian cultures are exhibited until September 10th. It’s worth a visit.

The permanent collection includes different rooms showing furniture, religious oils, colonial silverware, antiques, and even concerts take place regularly. Visitors must pay only $1 for the entrance. I consider that the authorities should increase its fee in order to hire a gardener. The gorgeous garden really deserves it. It’s a pity it’s not well-kept. I also suggest they should add a café, since the place is really wonderful.

I can’t believe I have never gone before to this museum. Have you?
