This apartment complex located on Australia 2700, in Barracas, was built all in wood in 1889 under the English suburbs style. It belonged to the Southern Railway Company and was built for its workers. There are approximately 300 apartments. It seems that about 90 low class families live there nowadays. It looks like there is danger of collapse. I didn’t know that this type of construction existed here in BA. Interesting finding, in one of the Flickr’s safaris I participated a few months ago.

Este complejo habitacional ubicado en la calle Australia al 2700 en Barracas, fue construido en 1889 siguiendo el estilo de los barrios suburbanos londinenses. Perteneció a la Compañía Ferroviaria del Sur y fue erigido para sus empleados. Tiene aproximadamente 300 departamentos y aparenta peligro de derrumbe. Dicen que viven allí 90 familias de bajos recursos, actualmente. No sabía que existía este tipo de construcciones en Bs.As. Fue un descubrimiento interesante en uno de los safaris de Flickr en el que participé hace pocos meses.
