Another post about the Botanical Garden / Otra entrada sobre el Jardín Botánico



For the first time in many years I observed a better preservation at the Botanical Garden. I took so many pictures that I’d like to share with you... I’ll keep on uploading them in the next posts.
For those of you who are wondering about the cats, yes, the Botanical Garden of Buenos Aires is a refuge for many, many cats. Actually, I heard once that there are no birds there because of the cats. Is it so?

Por primera vez en muchos años, observé un mejor mantenimiento en el Jardín Botánico. Tomé tantas fotos que tengo ganas de compartir con Ustedes, que las estaré subiendo en las próximas entradas. Para aquellos que no lo conocen y se están preguntando por los gatos, el Jardín Botánico es refugio para muchos (demasiados) gatos. Es más, una vez me dijeron que allí no hay pájaros por la presencia de los gatos. De hecho, no recuerdo haber visto pájaros. ¿Será así realmente?

Wood carving exhibition at the Botanical Garden / Muestra de tallas en madera en el Jardín Botánico.
The Sívori Museum offers many art workshops such as Wood Carving with excellent sculptor and painter Rosemary Gerdes, with whom I took illustration and painting classes a few years ago. Every year, her students show their artworks at the Botanical Garden.

El Museo Sívori ofrece varios cursos y talleres de arte, como el de Talla en Madera, con la excelente escultora y pintora Rosemary Gerdes, con quien tomé clases de dibujo y pintura hace unos años. Todos los años, sus alumnos exhiben sus trabajos en el Jardín Botánico.


This picture belongs to the 2005 exhibition. By the way, the bird in the middle is my dad’s work.
Esta foto pertenece a la muestra del 2005. Por cierto, el pájaro del medio es obra de mi papá.


This photo is from this year’s exhibition. The bad color is a symptom of the failure my camera would have a little bit later.
Esta foto es de la muestra de este año. El mal color es un síntoma de la falla que la cámara tendría un rato más tarde.
